Clinical Practice
As a Consultant General & Colorectal / Lower Gastrointestinal Surgeon at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Mr Sharma carries out elective and emergency surgery for issues pertaining to the gall bladder, small & large bowel and appendix. He has a special interest in colonoscopy, laparoscopic & minimally invasive surgery for colorectal cancer, small bowel malignancies, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), pelvic floor pathology including rectal prolapse, intrarectal intussusception and sphincter reconstruction (traumatic sphincter injuries including obstetric injuries). He also has a special internet in trans-anal endoscopic microsurgery, and complex perianal fistula and incisional hernia surgery.
Mr Sharma also holds holds weekly private clinics and operating lists at the BMI Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle.
